Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Program of the Department of Biomedical, Industrial & Human Factors Engineering (BIE) at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio has an open assistant professor tenure-track position in the area of biomedical imaging (e.g. Optical, Ultrasound, MRI). Expertise in the development of innovative imaging hardware, software and contrast agents that integrate detection and treatment of diseases is highly desirable. Focus on either neurological, developmental, cognitive, psychiatric or trauma-induced nervous system disorders is of special interest.
This position is part of the BIE department initiative to expand its research in Neuroscience and Neuroimaging in support of a university-wide effort to develop Neuroscience research as a collaborative effort between neuroscientists, engineers and physicians. At the heart of this effort is the Neuroscience Engineering Collaboration building, which houses the Wright State University & Premier Health Neuroscience Institute, a University System of Ohio Center of Excellence, where engineers collaborate with medical researchers and clinicians to improve diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate is expected to have a doctorate degree in BME/Bioengineering or related fields by the start date of the position, initiate and pursue a vibrant research program across disciplines, demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, and further develop our innovative and entrepreneurial educational programs.
