Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Postdoctoral Researcher will conduct research and support activities including coordination and mentoring of junior team members (PhD and MS students). Primary areas of research include semantic web (including ontology/knowledge graph development, linked data), sensor/IoT/Web of Things, and their applications (eg., health, smart city, smart home, social good) (see: The Postdoctoral Researcher will work in the Ohio Center of Excellence in Knowledge-enabled Computing (Kno.e.sis), will report to Prof. Amit Sheth and will receive guidance and mentoring related to multidisciplinary research, grant proposal writing, teaching and mentoring, career skills. He or she shall work in a multidisciplinary research team of computer scientists, clinical/health researchers, and social scientist.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field. Demonstrated success in high quality publication in the field of candidate expertise. Demonstrable knowledge of at least two and preferably three or more subject from IoT/Web of Things, Semantic Web, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Semantic Web, and Big Data Analysis.

Require Technical Skills: Unix, Java, Software Engineering, Scripting (preferably Python and Javascript), RDF/RDFS, SPARQL, OWL, knowledge representation (including. ontology/knowledge graph design and development tools and techniques), reasoning.

Preferred Qualifications

Streaming or Sensor Data processing, NoSQL database, advanced scripting, Advance Web Technologies including data extraction/crawling, experience in working/interning at high quality institutions such as Industry and academic research Labs.

Duties will include participating in a team research effort encompassing algorithm and prototype development, testing and evaluation; high quality publication writing and technical presentations, and project coordination. 100%

Special Contract terms and conditions of employment apply. Length of contract is one year renewable contingent upon funding.
