Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Research Manager is responsible to help develop research projects with medical students and faculty, assist in review of research proposals and manuscripts, and secure funding for research initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree; or ABD status with completion of doctoral degree in statistics, biomedical sciences, or related field by December 31, 2017. Experience using qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Advanced knowledge of SPSS or SAS statistical software.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with research in science education setting.

Essential Functions and percent of time:

70%— Provide expertise in research methodology for student and faculty research projects. Assist in review of students and faculty research proposals and manuscripts. Lead and collaborate with faculty to design and conduct medical education/curricular research projects. Partner on grant writing efforts to support research initiatives. 

20%— Assist the Director of Assessment in oversight of Scholarship in Medicine requirement for BSOM student.

10% — Work with OME leadership to provide faculty development sessions on research design and methodology to BSOM clinical and biomedical faculty.
