Job Summary/Basic Function:

To be a member of a research team conducting a longitudinal study of young military couples for the purpose of developing a brief screener that will accurately identify couples at increased risk for future relationship problems. To oversee and be responsible for all aspects of study implementation at the data collection site. Be the local point of contact for matters related to the study. Conduct scheduling, recruitment, and enrollment of research subjects including administering surveys, clinical scales, questionnaires. Be responsible for maintaining, providing, and record-keeping for all financial incentives for participant enrollment. Maintain all research records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Assist in activities related to regulatory requirements and miscellaneous clerical, administrative, or other related tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher. Experience in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel. Experience in creation and/or maintenance of database(s).

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience as a research coordinator would increase competency in performing this job. Specifically, prior experience with participant recruitment, enrollment, and assessment in any IRB-approved medical and/or behavioral science research project would be valuable.

Employee will be the primary point of contact for the study at the data collection site. Thus, having excellent interpersonal skills, comfort interacting with a variety of people, and ability to function in a highly independent role are essential qualities.

Essential Functions and percent of time:

To be the local point of contact for matters related to the study. To maintain all research records in accordance with regulatory requirements and assist in activities related to regulatory requirements. 65%

Participate in teleconferences with other study sites, prepare reports, participate in local site outreach and educational activities pertaining to the study. Assist in preparation of materials for presentation and/or publication. 25%

Working Conditions

This is a special contract position with continuation dependent on funding. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply.

Position is located at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. The position will work closely with psychologists and social workers in the on-base primary care medical clinic. This position will be supervised centrally by Dr. Jeffery Cigrang and locally by an on-site co-investigator.
